In September 2016, the renovation works at Radisson Blu Badischer Hof Hotel, Baden-Baden were successfully completed. Fully renovated and newly furnished: All hotel rooms in the historical part of the building, as well as in the extension building of Radisson Blu Badischer Hof Hotel, Baden-Baden make the old times of a classic Grand Hotel come to live again with a modern touch. Natural colors determine the atmosphere of the rooms: classical, dark oak wood or carpets with beautiful flower designs embellish the rooms' floors. The traditional stucco on the ceilings was renewed maintaining its original shapes. Looking on the history of the Baden-Baden Hotel
In 1630, the building was established as Capucin monastery. Already in that time, people benefited from the healing water in the house. In 1694, the whole city of Baden-Baden was destroyed and the reconstruction of the monastry began. Under the architect Friedrich Weinbrenner the monastry was formed to the luxury hotel "Badischer Hof", the first Grand Hotel in Europe. Back at this time the architectural highlight was the dining room with more than 18 Doric column, which extended over three floors. A fire demanded a reconstruction in 1950. It was done under the ownership of family "Steigenberger". In 1980, 75 further hotel rooms were built in an extension building. Finally, in 2009, the GCH Hotel Group took over the hotel in Baden-Baden and established additional 19 rooms. Now, in September 2016, we are pleased about the renovation and modernization of our Radisson Blu Badischer Hof Hotel, Baden-Baden and very proud of the achievement: creating modern elements which fit harmonically in the historic charm of the hotel.
