Munich's beautiful city centre is about 25 km away from our hotel. The city gate Isartor, Marienplatz square and Frauenkirche Cathedral are Munich's most central highlights. The amazing English Garden is one of the largest urban parks in the world. Thanks to features like the Chinese Tower, many traditional beer gardens and extensive green areas it is a popular meeting place for locals and tourists alike.

Munich museums from Pinacotheca to Glyptothek 

The two Pinakotheken (Pinacothecas) belong to the most significant museums in the world. The "Alte Pinakothek" is home to master paintings from the Middle Ages until the 18th century. At the "Neue Pinakothek", masterpieces from the 20th and 21st century are on display, e.g. by Goya, David, van Gogh or Cézanne. If you are more into sculpture, we recommend the nearby Glyptothek, a collection of antique Greek and Roman sculptures.

Cultural events in Munich

The Bavarian State Opera at the National Theatre is one of the world's most renowned opera houses. The first premieres took place around 1700 and attraced attention across Europe. The State Theatre at Gärtnerplatz, also called Gärtnerplatz Theatre, was originally built as "Volkstheater" (people's theatre). It is the second important opera house in Munich. Even if you are not attending an event, the stunning buildings are well worth a visit.
